Governance
The project is managed by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority.
A Steering Committee of local partners will provide guidance and feedback on the execution to the project. In some cases, they will benefit from the updated hazard mapping for municipal planning. The Steering Committee will also help shape the Coastal Resilience Management Plan, which will generate adaptation approaches to address current threats and climate change.
The following organizations have been invited to join the Steering Committee:
- Municipalities (Neebing, Shuniah, Dorion, Thunder Bay)
- Landowner Associations (i.e., campers associations)
- First Nations
- Ministry of Natural Resources
- Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area
- Parks Canada
- Thunder Bay Field Naturalists
- Nature Conservation of Canada
- Remedial Action Plan
- Thunder Bay Port Authority
- Thunder Bay District Council
- Lakehead University
